Behind-The-Scenes of the JLA Portraits

Initial Sketches. Some changes were made later.
Once a single sketch is finalized, I then transfer the image to a clean piece of wood.
Then, I etch the lines with a wood burner.
When all the lines have been burned, I size (Which is adding an acrylic polymer to seal the wood) the entire front surface and finally (black) gesso to the areas to be painted. Once that's all complete it's time to paint. :)
